During depression the world disappears. Language itself. One has nothing to say. Nothing. Kristin experienced this misery, yet still managed to touch many lives and even in death continues to help others find help for their depression.
The Kristin Brooks Hope Center was created to help those in crisis find help and hope immediately. The site and her story gives you a raw, personal glimpse into depression, and how it affects those around you. In addition, you will find the only clear, step-by-step path for you to follow out of the darkness. There is hope and you can feel happy again! Why I Chose Life

Dave's Story

August 2, 2008 was a dark day in my life. I had been out of work for over two years, and the financial pressures, along with having two autistic children, got the best of me. I drove to a store with a shotgun in my car with the intention of buying buckshot to end my life. While at the store I got an overwhelming sense that I needed to buy a toy for each of my children, as a morbid parting gift. It was there while searching in the toy aisle that I realized how foolish I was. I left the store, without the shells, and returned home, hoping all the way that my wife would not catch me sneaking the shotgun back into the house. My children got a lot more than just some simple toys that day. They got their father back. Ironically, it was thinking of them, and my wife, that saved my life.

A month later I wrote a script, and it was optioned by Ken about six months later. It was produced in February 2010. The film is called "Resuscitate". The premiere is this Friday at the Prescott Film Festival.

People ask me if the story is real and I tell them, "Everything but the girl."

I have lived in San Francisco since I was young. I am illegal. I am not wanted here. I don't belong anywhere. This summer I plan to jump off the Golden Gate.
